I don’t know if the group of today is still active or not. The truth is I haven’t found anything about them after 2012, so today there isn’t a concerts scheduled. On their website you can listen their songs on the Music tab. The Rasmus is an alternative rock band with symphonic and gothic elements of Helsinki. The group with the orginal name was created by Rasmus Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen, Pauli Rantasalmi and Jarno Lahti while studying in high school. Their first gig was at school during the Christmas party on December 23, 1994. A year after Jarno left the group and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen and that same year they released their first single "1st" with singles: Frog, Funky Jam, Myself and Rakkauslaulu. The single was initially published by Teja G. Records and republished later by Warner Music Finland.
In 1996 they released their first album "Peep" and a year later earned an EMMA (Finnish Grammy) the disclosure group. Lauri and Pauli left their studies to focus on the group. In 1997 "Playboys" was published and a year later "The Rasmus Hell of a Tester" with which his musical style took a turn gaining a stronger base of rock. The best known single was "Liquid" with which they won an award in 1999 in Finland Video Music Awards. This year he took in numerous festivals and Janne left the group after participating as the opening act at a concert of Red Hot Chili Peppers. The group was about to disappear as a result of the progress of Janne. Aki Hakala, Killer and Kwan Association Dynasty formed a small independent studio, in order to recruit new artists.
In 2000 they changed the name to The Rasmus in order to avoid confusion with the Swedish DJ of the same name. That same year, leaving the final focus on funk and pop rock. In 2001 they recorded "Intro", his first studio album, the first under Playground Music.y first released outside Finland. Reached number 1 with songs like "Chill", "FFF-Falling" Heartbreaker / Days "and" Madness. "The same year is" Hell of a Collection "with 18 songs from previous albums. In 2002 they won the award for best group, best album, best pop / rock and best song for "FFF-Falling" album. "Dead Letters" is the second studio album by The Rasmus published in 2003. Eero said about it: "Dead Letters album is darker, more melancholy and more dreamy than any we've done before." The album sold 1.7 million copies. According to Lauri: "Each song is a letter to someone. An apology, a secret or a cry for hel.". The song "In the Shadows" got two platinum albums, sold a million copies, gave them several awards throughout Europe and broke the record of Jean Sibelius. "Guilty" was a bestseller in Amercia. Thanks to the success of the last album released a DVD "Live Letters" recorded at Open Air Gampel in Sweden. "Hide from the Sun" is the third album released in 2005 with the songs: Dead Promises (with Apocalyptica), Immortal, No Fear and Shot. 2006 was the year of touring and the new versión of "SOS" by ABBA in cluded in the álbum "ComeToguether" from the German magazine Bravo. "Black Roses" was realised in 2007 and included songs like Livin 'in a World Without You, Lost and Loney, The Fight and Ten Black Roses. In 2009 the band begins a new tour across South America and published "The Best Of The Rasmus: 2001-2009" with the song "October & April" recorded with Anette Olzon (ex-singer of Nightwish).
In 2011 Lauri presented his first solo album "New World". The next group's album was "The Rasmus" published in 2012 and whose first single was "I'm a mess". Members:
