Rock'n'Metal: Disturbed (spanish).

Estoy realmente perturbada porque tengo un don para dar con bandas que ADORO y que están extintas. Soy un as y ¡¡lo odio!! De reciente descubrimiento son Disturbed. Como me encantan, no podía ser de otra forma, no hay conciertos ni actividad en su web desde el año pasado así que voy a hacer otra necrológica… (he perdido la cuenta de cuentas van y lo peor: no sé cuantas quedarán)

Disturbed es un grupo de heavy metal formada en 1996 en Chicago (Illinois) por Michael Peackles, Dan Donega, Mike Wengren, Wade Bennet y Steve ”Fuzz” Kmak. El grupo ha vendido más de 13 millones de discos en todo el mundo, tienen 1 disco de plata, 19 de platino, 2 sencillos de oro y 1 sencillo platino. Son reconocidos a través de logo “The Guy” el cual fue originalmente sólo una cara con una sonrisa grande pero convertido posteriormente en una figura completa por David Finch.

En sus comienzos como grupo de nu metal  eran conocidos como Crawl (pero  el nombre era utilizado por otra banda cambiaron a Brawl) con Erich Awalt como vocalista, Dan Donegan era el guitarrista, Mike Wengren el batería y Steve “Fuzz” Kmak el bajista. Awalt dejó la formación poco después de grabar la demo y el resto puso un anuncio en “Artista de Illinois”.

El último en llegar a la formación fue vocalista David Draiman que respondió al anuncio del resto de componentes de la formación, sin embargo pronto se convirtió en el líder del grupo. David creció en una familia extremadamente religiosa contra la que se reveló en la adolescencia lo cual le conllevó cinco expulsiones de diversos colegios. Con su llegada el grupo comienza a llamarse Disturbed (perturbado, desequilibrado), la razón según Draiman: "he sido un nombre que he estado pensando para una banda desde hace años. Parece simbolizar todo lo que estábamos sintiendo en ese momento. El nivel de conformidad que las personas sienten nos inquieta y estábamos tratando de empujar el nombre para darle un sentido".

El grupo grabó 2 EPs y los enviaron a diferentes discográficas. El éxito les llegó con su single “La Bamba” del 2000. Tras él llegó el álbum “The Sickness” con el que alcanzaron el puesto 29 en el Billboard 200 y vendió 4 millones de copias en Estados Unidos. Se unieron a la gira por Europa con Marilyn Manson en 2001. Poco después tomaron parte en el Ozzy Osbourne’s Ozzfest Tour y el Music as a Wapon Tour.

En 2002 llegó su segundo disco de estudio: “Believe” el cual debutó en el número 1 del Billboard 200. Su primer single “Prayer” fue censurado por las similitudes con los ataques del 11S de 2001. Draiman participó en la canción “Forsaken” de Jonathan Davis (Korn) utilizada en la BSO de Queen of the Damend (descansa en paz Aaliyah).

En 2003 la banda participa nuevamente en la gira Ozzfest y la Music as a Weapon II junto a Chevelle, Taproot y Unloco. Lanzan su single “Dehumanized” y kmak es despedido y reemplazado por John Mover. El grupo estuvo de gira junto a 10 Years y Ill Niño para la presentación de su tercer álbum “Ten Thousand Fists” publicado en 2005 con el que también alcanzaron el número 1. Su canción “Decadence” fue utilizada en el vídeojuego “Need for Speed: Most Wanted”. En este disco se utilizan por primera vez los solos de guitarra como en “Stricken” (tema central del WWE New Years Revolution 2006 y Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock), “Land of Confusion” y “Overburdened”. 

Entre 2005 y 2006 se vieron obligados a cancelar 2 veces la gira europea por problemas de voz de Draiman (Jägermeister Tour y Music as a Weapon III). En 2008 se lanza “Indestructible” siendo un nuevo número 1 para el grupo, una gira junto a Slipknot, Mastodon y Dragonforce en el Mayhem Festival de 2008 y una aparición en Rock Band con 3 canciones: “Perfect Insanity”, “Inside The Fire” e “Indestructible”. 

En 2010 se lanzó “Asylum” con canciones como “Another Way To Die” y “The Animal”.  El mismo año graban “Living After Midnight” de Judas Priest para la revista Metal Hammer  en el disco homenaje “British Steel”. “The Lost Children” de 2011 es un álbum recopilatorio de lados B del grupo.

I'm really disturbed 'cause I've a gift to fint bands that I LOVE and are extinct. I'm an ace and I hate it!! Disturbed are newly discovered. As I love their music, couldn't be otherwise, no concerts or activity on their website since last year so I'm going to do another obituary ... (I've lost count of many I've done and go worst: no idea how many I will).

Disturbed is a heavy metal band formed in 1996 in Chicago (Illinois) by Michael Peackles Dan Donegal, Mike Wengren, Wade Bennett and Steve "Fuzz" Kmak. The group has sold over 13 million albums worldwide, has 1 silver album, 19 platinum albums, 2 gold singles and 1 platinum single. They're recognized by their logo "The Guy" which was originally just a face with a large smile but later converted to a full figure by David Finch.

In its beginnings as a group of nu metal were known as Crawl (but the name was used by another band moved to Brawl) Erich Awalt like vocalits, Dan Donegan was the guitarist, Mike Wengren the drummer and Steve "Fuzz" Kmak the bassist. Awalt left the band shortly after recording the demo and the rest put an ad in "Artist of Illinois."

The last to arrive at the band was the vocalist David Draiman who responded to the add, but soon became the leader. David grew up in an extremely religious family against which he was revealed in adolescence which he led five expulsions from various schools. With his arrival, the group begins to be called Disturbed, the reason according Draiman: "It had been a name I have been contemplating for a band for years. It just seems to symbolize everything we were feeling at the time. The level of conformity that people are forced into was disturbing to us and we were just trying to push the envelope and the name just sorta made sense."

The band recorded two EPs and sent them to various record companies. The success came to them with their single "La Bamba" in 2000. After their album "The Sickness" by which they reached number 29 on the Billboard 200 and sold 4 million copies in the United States. They joined the European tour with Marilyn Manson in 2001. Shortly after they took part in Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest Tour and Music as a Wapon Tour.

 
In 2002 came their second studio album, "Believe", which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. their first single "Prayer" was censored by the similarities to the attacks of September 11, 2001. Draiman participated in the song "Forsaken" by Jonathan Davis (Korn) used in the soundtrack of Queen of the Damend (rest in peace Aaliyah).

In 2003 the band once again participated in the Ozzfest Tour and the Music as a Weapon II next to Chevelle, Taproot and Unloco. Released their single "Dehumanized" and Kmak is fired and replaced by John Move. The group toured with 10 Years and Ill Niño for the submission of their third album "Ten Thousand Fists" published in 2005 which also reached number 1. Their song "Decadence" was used in the video game "Need for Speed: Most Wanted." This album was first in which used guitar solos like at "Stricken" (theme of WWE New Years Revolution 2006 and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock), "Land of Confusion" and "Overburdened".

 
Between 2005 and 2006 they were forced to cancel 2 times European tour 'cause Draiman's voice problems (Jägermeister Tour and Music as a Weapon III).
