Avenged Sevenfold (english)

Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) is a band of heavy metal from Huntington Beach (California). It was founded by Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan in 1999 after leaving Suburban Legends. His three friends from high school were joined to it: Matt Sanders, Zachary Baker and Matt Wendt. The name of the Group refers to the story of Cain and Abel de el Génesis although they have expressed on several occasions not to be a religious band. They are known for their versatility in musical styles and its dramatic covers. Its logo, a smiling skull with bat wings, is called Deathbat.


In 2006 they win the award for "Best new artist" at the MTV with the video "Bat Country" and in 2011 won the prize to the best group live and most dedicated fans at the Revolver Golden Gods festival and so far have sold more than 8 million albums worldwide.

In 1999 they recorded their first demo with three songs and the following year the second with two songs which were remastered and included in their debut album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet (name inspired by the book of revelation), with the label Good Life Records, but before doing so Wendt left the band and enter Justin Sane.

In 2001, Sane attempted suicide canceling your tour Take Action Tour and Sane was forced to leave the group, being replaced by Dameon Ash. The same year published his first EP, Warmness on the Soul, with a version more heavy metal "To End The Rapture".

 With the departure of bassist and the arrival of Johnny Christ completed the formation of the group. They recorded the second album, Waking the Fallen, Hopeless Records on sale since 2003. In 2004 out of touring with the Vans Warped Tour.

 They signed to Warner Bros. Records and released their third album City of Evil in 2005 debuting at number 30 on the Billboard 200 position and getting his first gold disc. They walked the Metalcore. "Bat Country" has been one of the Singer more successful. It was written inspired by the work of Hunter S. Thompson: "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas". The video "Beast and the Harlot" also gave a good boost to his career, his riff was chosen as one of the best in history by the magazine Total Guitar reaching the post 14.


The fourth album, self-titled name to the band, was released in 2007 and reached number 4 on the Billboard 200. He was awarded as the "Album of the year" by the magazine Kerrang! and it reached number 1 on the Billboard Rock Albums, Billboard Alternative Albums and Billboard Hard Rock Albums.

His first live album was " Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough " in 2008. They did versions of "Walk " by Pantera , " Flash of the Blade " Iron Maiden " and Paranoid " by Black Sabbath . With it they got the number 6 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums. The same year collaborating on the tribute album to Iron Maiden.

In 2009, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was found dead at his home . According to the forensic died of poisoning due to an accidental overdose of prescription medications and alcohol.

In 2010 they recorded a new album " Nightmare" with Mike Portnoy on drums . On the album there is a song called " Fiction" which was originally "Death " written by The Rev and the last song on the album . Three days after finish , Jimmy died . The album was No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has been the best-selling album with 500,000 copies. Arin Ilejay was the new drummer in 2011 and in 2013 the " Hail To The King " album.



They have worked in video games such as Need for Speed: Most Wanted EA , SSX On Tour , Burnout Revenge , Guitar Hero 3, 5 and 6 , Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 , Need For Speed ​​: ProStreet and Twisted Metal.
