Eden Vrit: ACϟDC

Banda longeva donde las haya ACϟDC son leyenda viva en el mundo del rock. Están desde el 2003 en el Salón de la Fama del Rock'n'Roll y tras cuatro década de carrera siguen siendo una de las bandas con mayor poder de convocatoria del mundo.

AC/DC grupo formado en Sidney (Australia) en 1973 por los hermanos escoceses Malcolm y Angus Young. A largo de su carrera han vendido más de 200 millones de discos, sus canciones han sido la banda sonora de numerosas películas y millones de personas han asistido a sus conciertos los cuales resultan un espectáculo, entre otras razones, por el extravagante estilo de su guitarrista Angus Young, siempre acompañado de su uniforme de colegial callejero.

El nombre de la banda se les ocurrió a Angus y Malcolm tras ver, en la parte de abajo de la máquina de coser de su hermana Margaret, “ACϟDC” (siglas inglesas de “corriente alterna/corriente directa”). En Australia son conocidos como “Acca Dacca”. Su nombre ha inspirado a otras como BC/DC (de Canadá), AC/DShe (grupo femenino de San Francisco) y Crazy DC.

Angus, Malcolm y George Young llegaron a Sidney en 1963. George fue el guitarrista y comenzó en el grupo The Easybeats, banda de éxito internacional con su canción “Friday On My Mind”. Malcolm se decidió a emular Young uniéndose a “The Velvet Underground”.

En noviembre de 1973, Malcolm y Angus se deciden a crear AC/DC junto a Larry Van Kriedt, Dave Evans y Colin Burgess (ex-Master's Apprentices). Su primer concierto fue en un club llamado “Chequers” en Sidney ese mismo año. Después firmaron para EMI y durante los primeros años cambiaron mucho de miembros. En aquel entonces Angus ya vestía su uniforme escolar de “Ashfield Boys High School” según una de las versiones siguiendo la idea que le dió su hermana Margaret y otra dice que se debe a que uno de sus profesores le dijo que nunca llegaría a ser nada en la vida; pero antes de eso probó otros trajes como el de Spiderman, El Zorro, Superman (Super-Ang) y un gorila. El resto vestían de forma glam hasta cubrir al grupo “Skyhooks” que hacía lo mismo. Ronald Belford “Bon” Scott sustituyó a Dave Evans en septiembre del 74. En el 75 llegó el que se convertiría en el primero de sus himnos “It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock'n'Roll)”.

En sus comienzos sufrieron diversos cambios en sus componentes. En 1974 con la llegada del cantante Bon Scott la banda adquirió su personalidad propia. Completan el grupo Mark Evans (bajo) y Phil Rudd (Batería). En 1976 salen del continente con la gira de “High Voltage” y “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”, ambos albúmenes fueron un opuesto al estilo sonoro de la época. Ese mismo año fijaron su residencia en Reino Unido donde el punk rock estaba en auge. Con “Let There Be Rock” (1977) y “Powerage” (1978) alcanzaron los primeros puestos de todas las listas. Cliff Williams (bajista) ya trabajó en este último disco.

La fama en EE.UU. llegó los sus siguientes discos: “If you want Blood (You’ve got it)” y “Highway to Hell” (1979 – uno de los 500 discos imprescindibles según Rolling Stone) de los que vendieron millones de copias. En pleno apogeo de la banda llega la desgracia. El 19 de febrero de 1980, Bon se encontraba en un club nocturno llamado “MusicMachine” (o “Camden Palace”) en Londres. Allí bebió demasiado. Su amigo Alistair Kinnear le llevó a descansar y al día siguiente al hospital King's College en Camberwell donde fue declarado muerto por intoxicación etílica. Fue enterrado en el cementerio de Fremantle (Perth). Fue sustituido por Brian Johnson (ex de Geordie). “Back in Back” (1980), en homenaje a Bon, vendió 50 milloens de copias en todo el mundo (sólo superado por “Thriller” de Mickael Jackson). Su último álbum de estudio ha sido “Black Ice” (2008) del que destaca “Rock'n'Roll Train” y del que han vendido 10 millones de copias.

La banda tiene una calle con su nombre en Leganés (Madrid). El día de la inauguración de la misma la placa fue robada a las dos horas. Volvió a ser robada tres días después y sería innumerables las veces que la placa fue arrancada de la pared. Así que el ayuntamiento decidió ponerlas a la venta.

La banda ocupa el cuarto puerto en la lista “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” de VH1, la revista Q Magazine les sitúan en el primer lugar de su lista de “Los 50 grupos que debes ver antes de morir” y el séptimo en “Greatest Heavy Metal Band of All Time” de MTV.

Long-lived band where any ACϟDC are living legend in the world of rock. They are since 2003 in the Hall of the fame of Rock 'n' Roll and after four-decade career continue to be one of the bands with greater power to call for the world.

AC/DC group formed in Sydney (Australia) in 1973 by the Scottish brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. A long career have sold over 200 million albums, his songs have been the soundtrack of many films and million people have attended their concerts which are a spectacle, among other reasons, by the extravagant style of guitarist Angus Young, always accompanied by his street schoolboy uniform.

The name of the band came les to Angus and Malcolm after seeing, at the bottom of the sewing machine of her sister Margaret, "ACϟDC" (English stands for "direct current/alternating current"). Known as "Acca Dacca" in Australia. His name has inspired others like BC/DC (from Canada), Crazy DC and AC/DShe (all-female band of San Francisco). Angus, Malcolm and George Young arrived in Sydney in 1963. George was the guitarist and began in the Group The Easybeats, band international success with their song "Friday On My Mind". Malcolm and Angus are decided to create AC/DC along with Larry Van Kriedt, Dave Evans, and Colin Burgess (ex-Master's Apprentices). The band has a street with his name in Leganés (Madrid). The day of the inauguration of the same plate was stolen after two hours. He returned to be stolen three days later and would be many times that the plate was torn from the wall. So the Council decided to put them on sale.
